Hello, Brethren:
Acme 83 has been in existence for
nearly 141 years, and many changes and accomplishments have been achieved during this time. None of these,
however, were as honorable as this.
As Worshipful Master, I proposed a motion at our April Stated
Meeting which was moved, seconded, voted upon, and passed unanimously. This motion was to fully support
our
Senior Grand Deacon Daniel J. Barenie
in his journey to become the
164th
Grand Master of Masons for the State of Indiana.
(His term will begin in May 2014.)
This will be Acme’s first Grand
Master, and we have a lot of work to do. We are required—and expected—by the Grand Lodge to hold a banquet in
Dan’s honor. This banquet is traditionally for approximately 400 guests from our state’s lodges and other jurisdictions
throughout the United States. Acme will be on display before all Masonic Lodges, not only on the day of
the banquet, but also in the years leading to 2014 as we plan the event.
We made an important step forward
with the passing of the April motion at the Stated Meeting. However, there are two areas where we find
ourselves lacking: funds and the energy to commit to this enterprise. Here is your chance
to help.
As an Acme 83 member, I am asking you to pledge to the GM 2014 Fund. This pledge will enhance
various fundraisers Dan and his GM 2014 Committee will hold over the next four years. The Committee has
set up four levels of sponsorship (see the link below). Simply choose the one that works best for your
budget. Those who make a Platinum or Gold Pledge will be recognized in print on the
Banquet Program as well as on the Acme web site.
Acme Lodge needs your help, your
commitment, and your pledge. Dan Barenie is one of Acme’s own, and this is an extreme honor for us.
Please complete the Pledge form, which can be downloaded and printed using the link below. If you have
any questions, contact any member of the GM 2014 Committee or Dan Barenie himself.
Fraternally,
WM Dennis R. Davis, PM
